WA Fire & Rescue – MP37 – Acco – Medium Pumper

“Service  – Fire & Rescue Service of WA
Appliance Type – Medium Pumper
Fleet number – Motor 124 / MP37
Cab Chassis – International ACCO 1800
Body Builder – unknown
Registration – KM000

Entered Service at Kalamunda Brigade as Motor 124 on 16 February 1983 replacing a Bedford Light Pumper
Later reassigned fleet number MP37
Replaced at Kalamunda by MP65 on 21 October 2001

After service at Kalamunda, MP37 entered the metro spare fleet following the addition of a transverse locker at the front of the existing bodywork to house the BA equipment. This allowed space for Rescue tools which had previously been carried in a Rescue Trailer at Kalamunda.

The Pumper entered service in an all red colour scheme and red beacons all around. During the life of the appliance at Kalamunda, the colour scheme was changed to white-over-red with white & red striping and beacons changing to red & blues.

Later retired from service – the last known use of the vehicle was by a business ‘FirePro’ as a marketing & demonstration tool. Rust and other deterioration was present when inspected in 2008.
