Built by Mills Tui and commissioned in 2007, Car 31 calls 15 station home.
This vehicle was part of the contingent that travelled to Sydney to provide coverage during the major bushfire campaign in October 2013. It covered 22 Leichhardt’s area, as pictured below.

Car167 was Commissioned in 2000 and spent most of its life at 10 Richmond Fire Station. It was disposed of in 2011 and is believed to be in private use now.

Car 171 has served most of its life at 35 Windsor. It is commonly referred to as a ‘Baby Bronto’ due to it’s smaller size compared to other Ladder Platforms – it is based on a Scania Cab Chassis with only a single rear axle and a 27M Bronto Skylift F27RLH boom.

This vehicle was seen in 2013 at Alexander Perrie in Sydney, where it’s believed to have undergone the usual midlife service and inspection for the aerial components.

Car 191 Servied at No.1 Eastern Hill and 35 Windsor.
The combination ladder appliances had a wheeled escape carried on a hydraulic platform on the rear of the appliance. Firefighters would manually manouvre the ladder into position for firefighting and rescue tasks.

A small pump enabled limited direct firefighting capability.

MFB Car 301 was last seen in private ownership after being decommissioned in 2003. While in service, it served at stations 25 and 34, before finishing in the reserve pool.

This Scania Pumper was the first ‘Mark 5’ Pumper built for MFB, by Skilled/SEM in 2001. It was commissioned in 2002 and served at 35 Windsor Fire Station as photographed below. It went on to serve at a number of other Melbourne fire stations and was last known to be a training appliance.

In MFB tradition, this appliance shows a dedication to an MFB officer, with Car001 dedicated to Alan Richards, Chief Fire Officer 2000 – 2002
